But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. Matthew 6:6

Joel 2:12-18, Psalm 51, 2 Corinthians 5:20-6:2 & Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

We begin Lent with Ash Wednesday liturgies where the Church uses ashes as the ancient symbol of repentance (sackcloth and ashes). They also remind us of our mortality as you hear the words “remember that you are dust and dust you shall return” and thus bringing closer the day when we will stand before God and be judged. To prepare well for the day we die, we must die now to sin and rise to new life in Christ.

Being marked with ashes at the beginning of Lent indicates our recognition of the need for deeper conversion of our lives during this season of renewal as we live out the 40 days in hope to give more to prayer, fasting and charity. We are reminded today to seek out the LORD in all we do especially in prayer asking the LORD to guide you in faith, repentance and surrender to living a life led by His Word. Give up more than just candy or coffee but give in to God’s Only Son of Redemption to share and to proclaim.

The LORD asks us to all to go to an inner room and close the door to pray to Him in secret allowing you an opportunity to shut out any distractions and wondering thoughts about outside activities and thoroughly focus on the task at hand of praying to the Father alone. I know it’s hard to let go and let God be God when praying for we have countless thoughts and tasks on our minds but God asks us to shut that door and be still in His Presence during prayer.

I personally find early morning as my beginning prayer time as the moment I can find quiet to start my day in His Truth. As I live each day, I call out to the LORD in prayer often as I seek His Counsel to guide my every thought, action and deed. May this Lenten time bring you closer to God in ways you never imagined. May you give more to studying God’s Word, pray over everything you do and make a mends with anyone you hold a grudge against. “And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.” Matthew 6:18

In the Holy Trinity we pray to close the door and listen to Your Word as our guide to live for faith, charity and love. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. We pray for the Emmaus Team in NJ. We pray for LIFE FM. We pray for all people. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you of two minds. James 4:7-8

So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you of two minds.

James 4:7-8

James 4:1-10, Psalm 55 & Mark 9:30-37

The Bible teaches us to draw close to God so God doesn’t become our enemy by our love of the world instead of embracing His Truth to guide our every thought, action and deed. There is only one Real Way to resist the devil and that’s by practice, prayer and preaching. We must take steps to securely attach ourselves to God’s Word to guide our lives to a complete purification in God’s love for each of us. The Devil will flee when you rebuke him in God’s Name.

Your sinful pleasures are limited to feelings that escape you and are fleeting at best. When you embrace God’s Truth, you find the strength to submit to God’s Plan for you by your actions of repentance, humility and resistance to evil. If you are living with two minds of sin and purification, you are living in “yes” “yes” world of indecision. If you do not submit yourself to God’s Plan, then you are trying to skim demonic joys while walking the Light of Truth. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

In the Holy Trinity we pray to draw near to God and resist temptation in Your Holy Name. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. We pray for the Emmaus Team in NJ. We pray for LIFE FM. We pray for all people. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

In asking you must ask of God

You do not receive your passions

Adulterers can’t see grace in a bod

If you love the world then God is your enemy

Lover of stuff grants you excommunication

The Grace of God will guide you to be humble

Only in His Grace will one receive satisfaction

Submission to His Truth is easy to do

Resist the Devil and he will flee from you

Cleanse your hands you sinners of heart

Let your laughter be one of mourning

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show his works by a good life in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13

by Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-20-2012

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show his works by a good life in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13

I do believe, help my unbelief! Mark 9:24b

James 3:13-18, Psalm 19 & Mark 9:14-29

How can any of us face the unbelief of society in today’s sinful secular beliefs of men and women who live outside the practice of living God’s Divine Word? James teaches us that true wisdom doesn’t come from earthly unclean demonic spirits “but the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity.” James 3:17 We face this unbelief by showing our “works by a good life in the humility that comes from wisdom.”

We can only gain understanding of God’s desires for humanity by studying His Word each and every day with patience, tenacity and fervor for living the Truth. There is only one way to find the wisdom God instilled into mankind and that’s by seeking wisdom in humble servitude of His Truth. Without good works of compassion, mercy and love we live for selfish desires void of God’s Divine Wisdom instilled only by studying the Word of God and acting on its purposeful consequence. He will help your unbelief. Amen.

He will find you sharing His love without hesitation in the most unusual places once you find His Surrender means more to you than any other thing in your life. In a sense of heart, you become willing to die for Him because you are ready to die for Him. Your readiness came when you called out to Him in repentance asking for forgiveness and confessing Christ is LORD. What you weren’t ready for before becomes a Truth you live for now. “Whoever believes in the Son has Eternal Life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.” John 3:36

In the Holy Trinity we pray for wisdom of humility and belief. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. We pray for the Emmaus Team in NJ. We pray for LIFE FM. We pray for all people. We pray for the Good Friday prayers to be answered. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

As God is faithful, our word to you is not “yes” and “no.” 2 Corinthians 1:18

by Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-19-2012

As God is faithful, our word to you is not “yes” and “no.”

2 Corinthians 1:18

Isaiah 43:18-25, Psalm 41, 2 Corinthians 1:18-22 & Mark 2:1-12

Paul is describing to us the way people may answer the call to Christ as a double impression saying yes for this or that in Christ but also saying yes for areas of life that contradicts your surrender to a “Child of God” abiding by the decrees of God’s Word. We become naïve to our own understanding if we say yes one moment and in the same breath say yes to something else or think of something else in place of accepting the Truth in “constancy” living for the glory of God the Father.

Stop and think about this: Do you believe its okay in certain circumstances to have an abortion while saying I am Pro-Life? Do you give in to opinions of men when professing the Truth of Christ Jesus? Can you stand in His Will accepting His call when the task seems too big or the opposition is too vocal? Reclaim your place to live for a faithful God Whose “yes” is always “yes” guiding you to accomplish this “yes” in a task too big for your thoughts but undeniably trusted by the One and Only True God as doable. We all know God doesn’t set us on task we couldn’t complete in His Name with all trust, focus and graces coming from our souls.

Let us not wonder what makes us a happy motivated human being but trust in God’s Word to guide us to His Will. We think that we must rely on self-instruction but God’s Spirit is promised to us by Christ Himself  to guide us as His Mentor and Aide. We must pull always from our original sources in His Word to integrate our learning instilling curiosity while holding hands with human error. We become righteous by living for His Will in the real world of poverty accepting mistakes as learning to embrace our work for His Salvation. Let our “yes” mean “yes” for His “yes” to grace, forgiveness and love. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit our yes to You is Eternal. Robert M. in NJ we are praying a Novena for you my Brother in Christ. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you realize that we will be judged more strictly. James 3:1

by Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-18-2012

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you realize that we will be judged more strictly. James 3:1

This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him. Mark 9:7d

James 3:1-10, Psalm 12 & Mark 9:2-13

There will be times in our life when we will have trouble listening to God and following His Truth because we are weak and fall short of the goal as prescribed by Christ Jesus. I do implore that we must never lose sight of our own transfiguration of surrender to Christ’s Redemption as we live to re-share the Amazing Light that changed our life.

I can only imagine what Peter, James and John were thinking as Jesus became white as snow as they stood on the mountain watching His clothes changing before their very eyes. When God spoke to them from a cloud, they must have been totally amazed in stupendous fear. “Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; then from the cloud came a voice, ‘This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him.’” Mark 9:7

These men were willing to do whatever Jesus asked of them even though in the end they would deny Him to protect their own lives to fulfill the Will of God and become the Apostles of His Truth for humanity’s benefit. As a devout teacher of His Word, I pray we all never fall short of hearing His Word to guide us in practice, prayer and preaching. We must listen to God’s Son as commanded by God Himself. We will naturally shine His Light to help transfigure other’s lives to “listen to Him.”

Last year as I walked along Key Largo June 22, I came across a memorial for a Fallen Hero. Her name was Melissa Powers and her name is one I will never forget. She was a Monroe Country Sherriff Deputy killed on duty in a car accident. Her death struck me even more when I learned she had died one year to the day where I was kneeling and praying for her soul that hot summer afternoon. I prayed for her little 7-year-old girl too when I learned of Autumn. I prayed she would have the Smile of Christ to guide her and protect her. Yesterday I met her for the first time as I watched her get out of a car with that “Smile of Protection” I prayed for before lifting my heart to an eye-full of rain. I visited her mommy’s resting place memorial and marveled at the work of her grandpa with tears in my eyes. Please say a prayer for our Fallen Heroes and their families in the world.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to listen and follow Your Word LORD. We pray for Prayer Point today at the abortion mill praying for the babies dying there today. We continue our Novena of prayers for Robert M. in NJ. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. We pray for the Emmaus Team in NJ. We pray for LIFE FM. We pray for peace for mankind. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. James 2:26

by Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-17-2012

For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. James 2:26

James 2:14-24, 26, Psalm 112 & Mark 8:34, 9:1

My mom says to me often, “your burning the candle at both ends” describing the works of God I accomplish each day. The process of giving to God doesn’t come only on Sundays, it comes each day as we seek to accomplish living in the Will of God without hesitation. Over the years, I’ve struggled with carrying out good works for the LORD as well as sharing the work of God I accomplish for the Glory of His Truth. After considerable prayer, God has shared with me the strength to accomplish acts of mercy as well as sharing those acts in my writings daily to demonstrate ease of making the best of your Good Works for the LORD.

Good Works for God can come anytime, with anyone and anywhere as we walk our road of life in His surrender. Your Good Works can come as a prayer at a meal with friends or family in restaurant silently sharing the Good News with strangers who may also pray for the first time at their table because you chose to pray and guide them back to God in daily prayer from that point on. Maybe your Good Works for a homeless man will cause him to pray and share his offerings more readily each day with those he encounters in the world. Just maybe because you pray before a meal at work someone will silently begin to pray each day leading to witnessing to one another in His love weeks later.

James puts it this way in Chapter two verses 20: “Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless?” after describing how faith is dead without works in versus 14-17. “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” Let your life be an example of the Good Works God has instilled in you to become His Light to humanity for Good Works for Godly Ways. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to accomplish Good Works to share Your Truth with the world. We continue our Novena of prayers for Robert M. in NJ. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. We pray for the Emmaus Team in NJ. We pray for LIFE FM. What good is faith without works of Truth?- James 2:14-26

What good is faith without works of Truth?

Faith is a flower to bloom in works you choose

Faith alone won’t save you from God’s blues

Because God wants you to do works to use

For His Glory when a person has nothing to wear

Can you send away without warmth or food I dare

Oh no, go in peace without my choice to care

How can that be pleasing to God if you don’t share?

So faith itself without works is dead to be

A man, woman or child without God to see

Without works how can we demonstrate faith to agree

I believe in One God to Eternally set me free

Don’t be an ignoramus without works to live

In faith of His Promise He surely will give

Be a friend of God as Abraham did knowing

A body without Spirit and faith without works is dead

Listen, my dear brothers: it was those who were poor according to the world that God chose, to be rich in faith and to be the heirs to the Kingdom which He promised to those who love Him. James 2:5

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-16-2012

Listen, my dear brothers: it was those who were poor according to the world that God chose, to be rich in faith and to be the heirs to the Kingdom which He promised to those who love Him. James 2:5

James 2:1-9, Psalm 34 & Mark 8:27-33

I have to admit I was pretty scared when it came to visiting the homeless, poor and hungry as I began my surrender to a life in Christ. There used to be a point in my life that I would look down on people who were failures in the eyes of the society. I used to ask myself, “Why do these people choose to live alone amongst the elements instead of fulfilling the dream most Americans have?” God instilled in me the courage to fulfill His Commands by daily practice, prayer and preaching to embrace the lost as His child of destiny.

I remember distinctly the first time I hugged a homeless man and he whispered in my ear, “this is the first time anyone has held me in years,” that I knew God was talking to me as tears of Christ joy ran down my cheeks. Mother Theresa heard the poor man say, “I am thirsty,” and she equated this to God telling her to do more for the poor and needy of the world. I personally lived a homeless life finding not despair in my heart but a purpose to live for His Glory. What you find in me writing to God in brevity is courage to do more for His Truth. Share your love of loving Christ Jesus. Amen.

I will praise Yahweh from my heart; let the humble hear and rejoice. Proclaim with me the greatness of Yahweh, let us acclaim His Name together. I seek Yahweh and He answers me, frees me from all my fears. Fix your gaze on Yahweh and your face will grow bright, you will never hang your head in shame.” Psalm 34:2-5

God’s saving justice is never served by human anger; so do away with all impurities and remnants of evil. Humbly welcome the Word, which has been planted in you and can save your souls. But you must do what the Word tells you and not just listen to it and deceive yourselves. James 1:20-22

God’s saving justice is never served by human anger; so do away with all impurities and remnants of evil. Humbly welcome the Word, which has been planted in you and can save your souls. But you must do what the Word tells you and not just listen to it and deceive yourselves. James 1:20-22

James 1:19-27, Psalm 15 & Mark 8:22-26

It’s hard to do- not get angry, right? We all have anger responses from people or situations caused by individuals who would readily agree that they are not even a part of our lives. It’s how we settle this feeling in our heart that determines the impact God’s Word has on our being. The old adage “sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me” comes to mind but in as much as we think we all know words do hurt.

The Word of God has instilled in the heart of mankind a forgiving grace, if you will an example to follow by the love Christ displayed when He took the sin of humanity and covered it with His Blood on the Cross. James reminds us today we must take action in embracing the Word of God in every instance our lives have to offer. Practice knowing God’s Truth and see the loving embrace Christ will fill your heart with. Amen.

But anyone who looks steadily at the perfect Law of Freedom and keeps to it — not listening and forgetting, but putting it into practice — will be blessed in every undertaking. Nobody who fails to keep a tight rein on the tongue can claim to be religious; this is mere self-deception; that person’s religion is worthless. Pure, unspoilt religion, in the eyes of God our Father, is this: coming to the help of orphans and widows in their hardships, and keeping oneself uncontaminated by the world.” James 1:25-27

Blessed is the man who perseveres in temptation, for when he has been proved he will receive the Crown of Life that he promised to those who love him. James 1:12

by Thomas Joe Cruz-Wiggins

Wig’s Word of God Today 2-14-2012

Blessed is the man who perseveres in temptation, for when he has been proved he will receive the Crown of Life that he promised to those who love him. James 1:12

He said to them, “Do you still not understand?” Mark 8:21

James 1:12-18, Psalm 94 & Mark 8:14-21

The day of love can turn into a day of temptation for those who allow the desires of life to penetrate their soul and become like old yeast to corrupt the mind to follow malice and wickedness. Jesus spoke to the Apostles about the corruptive action of leaven as a symbol of the evil dispositions both of the Pharisees and of Herod toward Jesus. The disciples of Jesus are warned against sharing such rebellious attitudes toward Jesus by stating, “Do you still not understand?” Mark 8:21 Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 5:8 to celebrate only with sincerity and truth. “Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and Truth.”

Paul describes the man who can persevere through temptation as “blessed” ultimately receiving the “Crown of Life” for his patience, commitment and love towards the people of your life especially God. Paul reminds us that we are never tempted by God for “for God is not subject to temptation to evil” nor does He place temptation in our midst to create desire. Paul explains, “Rather, each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.” James 1:13-14 When you are tempted by your own desire to fulfill events in a fantasy world, stick to embracing the Truth in God’s Word to discover how God will bless you with the “Crown of Life.” “Let Your Faith Light the World” as the new flag I have for my Prayer Point displays and all will see your light as God’s Light. Amen.

James 1:1-11, Psalm 119 & Mark 8:11-13

People ask me all the time how I persevere in the LORD. I simply answer by abiding in His Word each day and several times throughout the day I turn to His Word in prayer as I pray over everything I do. When I am tempted to take on the wrong perspective, I purposely say aloud “thank you Jesus” to guide me back to my LORD’s Truth for without Jesus in our lives, we’d be nothing but a world full of sinners.

With Jesus we find the courage to seek His faith lacking in nothing for we are fully redeemed. By example, I am wanting to fulfill God’s Will in all things to be prefect and complete for the Glory of God Almighty. Life is always going to be full of trials as we seek the wisdom God bestows on us in our practice, prayer and preaching. We gain a sense of Spiritual Maturity by seeking a complete surrender in preparing our selves for the coming of Christ Jesus. Amen.

We pray by God, His Son and His Spirit to persevere in our practice, prayer and preaching to become Spiritually mature for Your Glory LORD. We continue our Novena of prayers for Robert M. in NJ. We pray for healing in faith, hope and love of the United States of America. We pray for “40 Days of Life” to close abortion clinics. We pray for the Emmaus Team in NJ. We pray for LIFE FM. We pray for our spouses, children, family, friends, and the unknown Christ-like people we pray with every day. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

The Truth of Miracles is My Proof Eternally- Mark 8:11-13

The Pharisees came to argue

Seeking a sign from heaven to undue

The test they spat at Him to prove

He was the Son of God so True

Jesus sighed from the depth of His soul

Seeking a sign never will be showed

You can’t see the Truth in the miracles I know

Why does this generation seek a sign to grow?

In an Amen He gave all signs to be

The lame walked and the blind see

But to you Pharisees nothing to agree

No sign when demanded comes from Me

The Truth of Miracles is My Proof Eternally
